家を求めてさまよううちに、カイコが繭を作るように自分の体がほぐれて家になってしまう・・・安部公房のシュールな小説「赤い繭」のラジオドラマ版。NHKで1960年に放送された。音楽は日本の電子音楽のパイオニア諸井誠で、単なるドラマの効果音にとどまらない初期の電子音楽が全編を覆っている。草月アートセンターで「赤い繭」の舞台版が上演された際に、賛助作品として上演された、秋山邦晴による声と音楽の実験的作品「秘法19」のテープパートもカップリング。声を素材にしながらも変形されまくったヤバい音は衝撃的。

"Akai Mayu" is a short fiction of Koubou Abe (1924-1993). This music drama version was broadcasted by NHK in 1960. Makoto Moroi is a pioneer of Japanese electronic music, and he composed the music used chamber ensemble, mixed chorus and electronic sound on this work. Also this work was performed at Sogetsu Art Center as a part of concert program of Moroi's works. This different version included a pantomaime by Mamako Yoneyama, abstract image projection and stage setting by Hiroshi Manabe.

Also in this concert, Kuniharu Akiyama (about his name, please see note of CD "Music for Puppet Theatre of HITOMI-ZA") performed his work "Arcana 19". This work was consisted of text, object sounds, piano and pre-recorded tapes. On this CD includes only some tape parts because live recording source of this performance was lost.
